Welcome to West Exe Children's Centre Our Mission is to "Cherish Children by Empowering Parents" Our Vision is that "Learning starts before birth and continues through life" "Children are our future, they are unique" "Lives are long and healthy" "Environments are creative and stimulating" "Relationships are positve" "We aspire to be the heart of the community" "Our staff are committed to children and families" West Exe Children's Centre is one of the largest single children's centres in Devon and has been developed following the government's commitment to ensure that all children and family services are targeted to meet the needs of the communities in which they sit. West Exe has the largest number of children and families requiring a variety of services that will meet their needs at any one time. These will include targeted and preventative family support services, nursery education, full day care and health alongside services such as a toy library, out of school activities and groups aimed at everyone within the community. We have a thriving, high quality 50 place nursery school, a large team of health visitors and midwives and a day care facility which is run by Little Ones Nursery. Alongside these core services we are lucky to have many other child care providers and charities either based with us or linked in some way. The Centre also boasts fantastic outdoor space. Our aim for the future of West Exe Children's Centre is to reach as many children and their families as possible, in order to enhance their childhood and enable them to become healthy, fulfilled adults who make a positive contribution in the future. To help us acheive this we will endeavour to deliver the services needed in consultation with centre users and the wider community within the given budget and to monitor and adapt this as needed. We are always developing services, both in the Centre and in the surrounding area. As you browse our website you will see the wide variety of work we do and you can be assured of a friendly welcome. Please feel free to come along and see for yourselves what we offer. Click HERE to view the Children's Centre OFSTED report - March 2012
